Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description
On a red shield 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 inches (5/08 cm) in width, a sword, with a pair of wings issuing from the guard, all white.

Symbolism
The red background and sword represent the Army.  The wings are symbolic of the Air Force representing the units assignment.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 23 September 1952.  (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-207)
